Green web hosting technology
At OpenHost where possible we use high-density, energy efficient hardware such as Blade servers and Virtualisation. This reduces the need for large quantities of physical servers, which require cooling and power.
Blade servers and virtualisation are shown to be upto 80% more energy efficient that physical hardware, in addtion to providing a much more reliable, stable and scalable web hosting environment.
United Nations Environment Program
In 2011 we planted more than 500 trees in developing nations to help offset our carbon usage.
The Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign is a worldwide tree planting initiative facilitated by the United Nations Environment Programme. We have partnered with MokuGift and the UN Environment Program for this project.
