1. After deciding which hosting plan suites your needs best, click on the "order" button associated with that hosting plan. This will take you through to our online ordering system.

2. Next, decide on what "subscription period" you wish to have. The subscription period dictates how often your hosting renewal orders are generated.

3. If you are a new customer, please complete the "New subscriber" section, otherwise enter your email address and password to continue.
If you wish to separate the administration aspects of your account such as "Accounts", "Technical" and "Administrative" you should choose a Business Account. If you are happy for all three roles to be managed by one contact, choose a "Personal Account". You can change your account type at any time in the future.

4. Register, Transfer or otherwise associate your domain name with your hosting account.
The Domain screen provides you with a number of options.
Register new domains for your website - choose this option and enter your desired domain name should you wish to purchase a new domain name for your hosting.
Transfer and existing domain - If you already have a domain name and you wish to transfer it to your OpenHost account, choose this option. To transfer a New Zealand domain, you should obtain your UDAI (Domain Password) from your current registrar. You can do this by phoning or emailing your current registrar. If you would like assistance to obtain your UDAI, simply complete your order with any UDAI key and email support@openhost.co.nz to assist you. International domains such as .COM require that the domain be "Unlocked". This can be achieved by logging onto your registrars website and unlocking your domain, or emailing your current service provider and requesting the domain be unlocked. New Zealand domain name transfers are free of charge. International domains will be renewed for a minimum of 1 year and be charged accordingly.
Create subdomain under the OpenHost Limited default domain - If you don't wish to use your own domain, or wish to setup a test account you can use any of the available OpenHost domains.
Use an existing domain registered elsewhere - If your domain name is registered with a third party and you wish to keep your domain with them, choose this option. Note: you should enter your domain name WITHOUT a www. prefix . ie; openhost.co.nz -- This will create your hosting account and an associated www. alias ensuring emails addresses are created as info@openhost.co.nz instead of info@www.openhost.co.nz
You should now submit a domain name record modification form to the registry where your domain name was registered and update the name server to
ns1.openhost.net.nz
ns2.openhost.net.nz
ns3.openhost.net.nz
If you don't want to use OpenHost name servers, then check the box "Do not host my name in OpenHost's DNS" - this options should only be chosen by experienced users as it requires you to manually configure your zone file with your current registrar or DNS provider.

5. Domain Specific information - If you have chosen to register a new domain, you will be presented with a confirmation screen. If you have chosen to transfer a New Zealand domain, you will be presented with a UDAI request screen.

6. Other Options. The Login password request asks you to enter the website hosting plans "FTP Password". This password along with a unique FTP Username will be emailed to you once the order has been completed.

7. Place your order. You are now ready to place your order, confirm that all your information is correct, read and agree to the terms of our User Agreement, choose where you heard about OpenHost and click "Place Order"

8. Payment. The last step to completing your order is to choose your payment method. When paying by Credit Card our system will automatically retain your Credit Card details for payment of future renewal orders. To pay by cheque, bank deposit or Internet banking, a minimum subscription period of 3 months is required.

9. If you chose Credit Card, you can now enter your credit card details and process your order. Once payment has been confirmed your account will be automatically provisioned and access enabled very shortly thereafter. Otherwise print your order confirmation page and follow the payment instructions.
